  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Thanks to Loren of Casa Gomez (lgomez), I was able to snag a nice 5'er plus one last week and thought I'd pass a little review onto you all.

I believe this was the Casa Gomez "Loren" size. (Loren can probably correct me if I'm wrong though)

It had a light wet grass, light barnyard smell pre-light. Almost a sweetness to it.

Easy draw. Packed well. Not too tight, but doesn't feel loose. Solid feel in the hand.

Leathery and woody so far at the first light.

Leather continues through the first third with notes of cedar.

Little tilt on the ash here.. It held for a good 2-3 inches before finally dropping.

2nd third continues with the leather, add a bit of light pepper now too. Nice creaminess throughout appears.

Final third has more pepper. It increases, and adds notes of what might be cedar. Creaminess is going away. Still lots of smoke and a wonderful aroma to it.

Still a nice smooth pepper towards the end and nubbin' it cuz im enjoying this last third.

Good stuff.

Total smoking time: 1 hour 38 minutes.

Overall, a good mild to medium smoke. Not incredibly complex, but something nice to sit down with a scotch (I paired it with a glenrothes select reserve) and just relax. I enjoyed this one enough to warrant picking up some more after I work through the sampler I got.

thanks for the kind words, i enjoy hearing what the smoker has to say, as opposed to a magazine or a panel of reviewers.

i think i sent you one of each size, plus a maduro, see which size speaks to you and well go from there

Nice review. I may have to try these, if nothing else just because my name is on it lol.

FYI: I have no affiliation with Casa Gomez Cigars, just so everyone knows
