Tonight I sat by the river, read a book, listened to some tribal music from the opposite bank, had a cold water, and enjoyed a Casa Torano Connecticut Robusto.
Appearance: Gorgeous. Nice, smooth wrapper with slight veins. No soft spots, and not packed too firm. There were two small off colored spots, at first I thought mold because it was a greenish color, but after inspection I changed my mind.
Stick price: $6.50
Pre light: Excellent draw and some floral scents/flavors.
First third: Very creamy taste and feel. The finish left a slight spice on the tongue that fades to a coffee flavor.
Second third: The sweetness really comes through here. The spice has faded into nothingness. There is a fantastic caramel finish.
Final third: The coffee flavor has exploded. Then a very interesting flavor came through... apple kringle. I couldn't believe it. The finish holds onto the sweetness and a slight floral flavor comes through.
Nub: Coffee and cocoa flavors dominate.
Burn: Not razor sharp but very even and consistant.
Ash: Tight white ash, with some amounts of gray mixed in.
The ash dropped off after about 1.5 inch, and then never ashed again!
This 4 3/4 x 52 stick was a fantastic medium-mild smoke and I would definitely recommend them to anyone.
