  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I don't think I'm very good at reviewing cigars, but seeing as this was a home roll I felt like I really needed to try and put one together.
I got this stick in a trade with @nic
Blend 1 PAO 4/2/2016. I'd say it was CGish in size. I didn't think to really measure it.

Ok on to the serious stuff. I don't have the most refined palate, but here's what I got.
Started off with white pepper followed shortly by fruit or some type of sweetness. Not dark fruit, but like a maraschino cherry, with that slightly almond flavor they have. Last a bit of leather on the back end, just enough that I could pick it out, but not super strong.

I want to say it reminded me of the sweetness from a MJ12 but I've only had one of those. It also kind of made me think of the sweetness of a Tat TAA 2015 when they were young. The white pepper made me recall the Aquitaine.

Those flavors were the ones I mostly tasted, they played back and forth in strength which was amazing as the fruit was very tasty and the pepper was like a palette cleanser that just made the sweetness even bolder and more defined. The pepper got strong on occasion, but never so much that I didn't like it, and then the sweetness would return and just even things right back out. I really liked the blend.

The stick was a little more rustic than a factory stick, but had no construction issues. The burn was perfect and the cap held up to a good V cut with no issue. I didn't even dry box it and it never needed a touch up. The ash hung strong too.

To me this was a very enjoyable stick. I loved the blend and it burned with zero issues. I can't ask for more than that!

It did, but also added some distinctly citrus tartness that I often wasn't a fan of. I've been experimenting with Connecticut Broadleaf binder for the last few weeks.
Do you have any dominican binder? This blend would be close to my corojo kink blend which is spicier with some pepper
