  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Please forgive the cross-post. I have started smoking a fair number of large ring gauge cigars, i.e. 60-66. All of my cigar cases max out somewhere in the mid 50's. Does anyone know of any cases that will hold 60+ gauge cigars (besides ziplok baggies)? TIA.

do you mean small 3 cigar cases? if so, you are correct. they are usually for smaller RG cigars.

Yup, the 2-3 cigar sized leather or plastic cases that you can fit in a jacket pocket. Ron, I think I see a marketing opportunity for you... :agreeclen

Found some at Cuban Crafters that hold up to 60 gauge, but I'd like to find something that will go up to 66.

I found one at habanos & hermanos. And I can't post the url but the item number is 1208. The description says it holds 64 gauge. It's called Don Salvatore 3 Finger 64 Ring Cedar Lined Leather Case

Wouldn't you like to know?
The letubes from Ron may not be rated at that large but I have a friend who uses that all the time and his favorite size is 6 60. Not sure if he can get all 3 in or just 2 but it does work. I have seen him struggle a bit but never seen him damage a cigar

Actually, Fuente/JC Newman just came out with a new 60+ RG Craftsman's Bench Leather case. Just ask your local B&M to get you one, should be around 25/30 bucks.

don't buy leather cases from Cuban Crafters......... at least not the the bordeaux colored ones for $19.99. i bought two; a 2 finger and a 3 finger.......they were made in India.....and had a toxic strong odor..... had to return them.....and had to keep after Cuban Crafters to send the refund..... they finally did.......

Boy, I wish I had been able to read your post before ordering. I got the 3-finger burgundy case for $20. You really do get what you pay for. Quality is crappy, and as you say, it smells. The outside smells like recently tanned leather, which is OK, but the inside smells a different kind of funky. Since I only got one, it isn't worth the postage and hassle to return it; otherwise, I would. Instead, I'm going to try letting it air out and lining it with Spanish cedar strips to see if it can be salvaged. Otherwise, i'll just chalk it up to experience.

Ron,
How about the replacement foam inserts you have for the 5, 10 and 15 count cigar caddy. I haven't tried a 66 rg in mine yet but it seems like they may fit.

should work fine. the foam is soft enough to take the shape of a larger RG cigar
