  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Hello fellow BOTLers,

I've been a member here for quite some time, but I've been on and off for a while. Nevertheless, this is family! And so, I'd like to ask for an advice to celebrate the birth of my first child, a baby girl!
What cigar should I smoke? Think about the cigar you have enjoyed the most, and I'll see if I have it or I'll try to get it.
NOTE: I may pair it with tequila, vodka or whiskey since I am not a big champagne or wine drinker!

Doooooode! Long time, no see! How've you been? Are you still in the states? Congrats on the baby!

Full disclosure here, my children's births were both so manic that I actually didn't get a chance to smoke a cigar until we brought them home. By that time, I was so tired that I just fired up whatever, but saved cool stuff for their first birthdays.

Congrats man!! Those first few days after a baby is born are ridiculously busy/tiring/stressful. I’d say to fire up a good “everyday” stick that you know you’ll enjoy. If you’re set on a “special occasion” stick, something like a Padron 1926 or Opus X should get the job done.

Whatever you decide, buy a box. Put the rest away for special occasions with her. So you want something that will age well over many years.
This has been one of the best suggestions I've received in a long time. Dang man...haha wow. I'm short on the budget now cuz of the baby but I'll try to buy a box to age with her.

Dude!!! So great to see you! I've been in NC for 4 years now! I need to send you some stuff!

My baby's birth had some complications and it was a hard time so I couldn't smoke either. She was born a few weeks ago and I still haven't celebrated. But thankfully, all is well now...hence me asking around about recommendations!

Congrats on the baby! Whatever stick you decide, I would say grab a box, so you can smoke one every year on her birthday! Let them age together
