Well I did a trade with a brother from an other site. I gave him some cigars and he sent me this. The light wood in the middle looks to be birds eye maple, and I'm not sure about the rest. I think he uses what ever scrap he has around from larger projects to make these.

I agree with the beautiful part, but to not use it would be a waste. A Ferrari is a beautiful car..DRIVE IT. That ashtray was meant to be used...USE IT.

I'm going to check into a durable finish I can put inside it. The craftsman has been looking into glass inserts. If any are you are interested in one PM me and I will hook up you with him. He did mention to me that there's about a three month backorder though.

I would have a hard time using that for ashes. I already have a stinky, so why not use that for ashes and keep candy or condoms in the pretty one.
