Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
I'm assuming that's because there are a lot of people stopping in after work on Friday? Was at Tesa's last night and had a great time. One bonus about them is they stay open very late, even later than their posted hours. I was there to about 1:45 am though their hours list 12 as the closing time.
Saturday night is a better night than Friday night (IMO). Friday nights are a bit too lively and the atmosphere is not relaxing.
Im not sure if that is a factor as this is very late at night. This was the only Friday night I've been to Tesa's (and this was a couple of months ago), but I noticed a different vibe on Friday night than any other day (even Saturday night). Maybe there was a DJ there (which would explain a lot) but it was not a relaxing cigar smoking environment on the Friday night I was there.I'm assuming that's because there are a lot of people stopping in after work on Friday? Was at Tesa's last night and had a great time. As a guy that is in the barbershop every Saturday morning (for more years than I care to admit), I would agree with the barbershop analogy and love the general vibe in the place (my preferred of all the Chicagoland cigar lounges) but with all that being said, I do not look for a club atmosphere when I'm smoking cigars...Im just there to enjoy good sticks with good friends in an inviting place with a good vibe.Tesa though definitely carries a different clientele than your typical B&M, and in a good way in my opinion. You won't almost ever find the stuffy old farts puffin' on their Macanudos and 70 RG monsters. I've always likened it to a barbershop atmosphere. Come Friday nights it's a place where a lot of local loyal regulars come to let loose. True hidden gem of Chicago.
