  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I am heading to a conference in October, but it only runs Wednesday to Friday. I'd like to extend my stay Friday night and fly back on Saturday. The Hotel Monaco, where the conference is held, is a crazy $359 a night. I'd be happy to grab a cheap place for the night, if it meant being close to the airport or Casa. I know we have a few guys in Chicago, so hopefully someone can suggest a cheap clean place to stay. I appreciate the help fellas.

Yeah, I got a great room at the Fairmont for $109 a night, right off randoph and michigan. If you're mobile and want to be around Casa though, there is a Best Western just down the road which is usually below $100 a night, just that you'll be a little away from Ohare if thats where you're flying in/out of. Try to fly in/out of Midway, then you'll be good to go. G1

3-4 stars near O'hare on priceline should be 40-80 depending on time of year. I've gotten some for $30ish.

I just stayed in the Hard Rock Hotel on Michigan. It was around $150/night and you could 'borrow' a Fender guitar for free. It's not the best hotel in the world, but it's hard to beat the location. In October and not during a Bears game, the hotel should be a little cheaper. The cab ride to oHare was $30, I believe...

Thanks guys, I'm going to book my flight and keep an eye out for a cheap hotel option for Friday night. There are plenty of options on Priceline, but would rather hear something is clean and worth the money from one of you.

By chance do you know when in October? The weekend of October 6-7th is the Chicago Marathon. Hotels downtown will gauge prices. Your best bet might be finding a place close to O'hare airport. Casa is just a shot down 294 and you can always hop on the Blue Line towards downtown.

BTW the Monaco is pretty pimp. I pass by it on my way to class.

My family and I just stayed at the Hotel Monaco and had a great time. It's the perfect spot to stay in Chicago and we loved it there. Do the priceline check! We did and got a great deal.

Well the flight is booked, so I just have to find a deal for Friday night. I usually get my car rentals through Priceline cheaper than our corporate rate, so hopefully I can snag a good deal on the hotel.

Anyone up for a meetup on Friday? Wednesday and Thursday would have to be after 7, but available too. Hopefully, I can meet a few friendly faces.
