  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

First off not trying to be PC, but some people do Christmas, so I used the word Holiday as Hannukkah (hope I spelled it right) is almost over. Do you get Cigar/Smoking related gifts?

Are you hoping for ants thing special?

Are you going to buy yourself anything special?

Me I expect to get a couple of Neptune Cigar Gift Certificates, I will spend on Padron's.

I will probably get a few ashtrays as gifts from
people that will just end up on the shelf, how many ashtrays does a person need...
I have a total of two, one from Wally - World that I can wash it is plastic, and junk. I have a nice on that is Glass looks like it has a Cigar Leaf (Tabacco Leaf) imbedded in the glass. There is an Arturo /Fuentes I would like to pick up but it is $50.00, and I would rather spend the money on something else. I am fur gel about somethings.:p

Fantastic tool!

I honestly spent an hour on the Perfect Draw web - site watch to the inventors U - Tube, 99% of his web - site information made sense to me. Then I called the inventor, he answer the phone, and we talk maybe 15 - 20 minutes. Apprently a Dentist by profession, Cigar lover, seeking to invent something different to fix problem Cigars, and enhance air flow.

Most of the pokers, or draw tool available are not like his. They are just a shaft that poke a hold, and as heat works the Cigar the hole shrinks. So the why, and how is tool work remind me of something a machinist use to remove material, {i]a drill bit[/b] and then evacuate metal from the hole. Made sense to me, because I spent a few years in a Tool & Die Apprentship.

So the Perfect Draw seems to be what the other tool are not. Something that drills a small hole, or air path, and removes tight spots, or plus leaving a small air passage for air and smoke to travel down.

Apprently the guy who does talk on the radio, Rush Limbaugh got one, and went on a rampage how good this little invention works. Rush can afford to trash a Cigar if it don't draw. But apprently thinks the Perfect Draw is a Cigar enhancer, or CPR tool.

Nuff Said.

The P.S. Is I first heard of this little invention on the BOTL Forum, that was as good thing. :cigar:

Heard from here as well.,..since my first purchase I have bought 5 of them (one to replace the one I lost and the others for gifts) .

My only gripe is that it's a bit small, so I wish it came in a larger carrying case....it's like losing a pen. Mainly my fault though, because I threw out the original box it came in.

My solution to not loosening things is a place for everything, and everything in it place. I went to Wally - World and bought a 97 Cent Pencil Box. Bright Orane One.

I put my Cigar Lighter, Cutter, and Homemde Poker Needle in the Box. Now I have a couple of Herf - Dors that replaced the Pencil Box. One for home, and one for going out.

That way me tools are in there tool boxes, (Herf-A-Dors), and have not lost a Cutter, or LIghter or DYI TOOL.

Everyone looses stuff, friend lost his big dollar S. T. DuPont Lighter that was a big loss. :sorry:

Would think in Big Sky Country there has to be some wood works supply that sell Cedar. Or have you consider about doing some DYI Cedar Draws, and stacking them on pullout.
Theres tons of Red Cedar, but zero spanish cedar. And the local place only sells in 4/4 so the re-saw to 1/4 is really expensive.

Well as you progress on your conversion document the process with images (photos), show off the before, progress, and last the complete project.

To show off your new Humibor, looks like a great idea that should be wonderful when you are done. :cigar:

Most non-cigar smoking gifters are going to opt for ashtrays, lighters, a cigar clip or two and maybe one of these!

My wife let me spent our holiday money on a trip to Tampa and more cigars. If you get a cigar glass please let us know.

I plan on making one out of some car parts I have laying around to compliment my new smoking area/golf sim area in my shop. Hopefully I can get it done this weekend.

I recent bought a couple Modus tools. One for me and one for my FIL. I really like them. Got a couple blemish models. Can’t find the blemishes. Very well made and have a great weight to them. Built it nub tool. The Modus two has an updated design on the draw tool and a built in punch as well as nubber.
