  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Man, I hate when you get that glue that gets on the wrapper and just doesn't want to come off. Sometimes I like to nubb the cigar, and that just messes up everything.

/end of rant.

Speaking of cigar bands.

I order all my boxes either unbanded and reboxed or intact. for the first time I ordered 6 boxes from a vendor of vintage cigars. They are sending the boxes and bands seperate. How the hell do they get all the bands off 6 boxes without ruining them? or do they ruin them?

Some of the bands barely survive. I worry about the damage to the wrappers when the band is removed but I guess someone has some really sharp fingernails, . Just stay with Belicosos when you order from sites that remove the bands, they slide right off,

I have not had a problem with major damage. A scuff here or there. I just smoke those first. Small gauge the bands are shot.

The trick is to order cabs pre 2004. Post 04 they started banding SLB's.

I have no preference to intact or not as I'm buying them to smoke and rarely have I seen the wrappers damaged from removal of the bands.
