  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I was at ron's last night. one guy asked me where I got my cigar poker and a couple of evesdroppers also became interested. took off like a wildfire...so I'm thinking of coordinating a group buy. I might as well get another one or two made.

cigar pokers page

I contacted sage and carrie about discounts and such. the way it will work is once they get back to me with pricing and discounts I will set up a group buy name. you tell me how many and what you want and I will send them a masterlist. you deal with them directly -- fill out the questionarie, send in the payment, receive the poker when complete -- they will check your name against the list I give them. we are just lumping our orders together so we can get a discount.

if you are in the houston area and would like to save on shipping let me know as the guys in the cigar shop and I will just have all of our's sent in one big box.

I'll post updates here as they are received from petroglyph.

discount has been set at 15%

b.j. funny you bring that up -- btw, I'm not registered there...can you give us a gist of the thread or c/p some posts here?.

I haven't received a reply from sage or carrie. I started digging around their site last night and stumbled upon their legal info:

Legal-Internet Cigar Community

It is also understood that the final work is meant for an individual and not as an attempt to defraud or infringe upon the rights of the cigar manufacturer whose band has been used on the final product
I know when I got mine some jerks in the gb were bitching about the time it took them to be completeed, the lack of pictures updates, blah blah, blah. I think they got tired of dealing with all that bullshit and bullying from CF as I think some posters there raised a big stink about them using opus x bands...which were user provided.

anyway, I'm going to give them a call later on and try to talk to them to see what we can come up with.

nevermind, I had to register so I could read that thread.

when I ordered mine it took longer than was originaly stated to receive the product. that is why I'm going to ask everyone to deal directly through them.

the pokers are worth it if you are patient.

just got a reply from carrie:

We are very pleased to hear that the cigar poker is still working out for
you and that others are interested. We would be happy to provide a discount
for a group buy.

I will be in and out of the office today and tomorrow, so I will be able to
provide the info you need by Saturday.
so we'll be getting a discount, just don't know how much. I'll keep you guys posted.

so let me know if anyone here is interested, I don't want to keep posting updates if nobody is going to get in on it.

I didn't mean to intimate that they don't make good products. Just that they take a long time. I'm sure the CFers were a pain in the ass to deal with.

On the HP group buy, there was some serious miscommunication in-house at Petroglyph on getting them mailed. 10 weeks is a long time.

jorge, do you get the band back, or do they actually epoxy it to the poker? I think one made from a jubilaeum band(s) would be sweet!
