  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I got a pair of cigar scissors a week ago, and finally had a chance to check them out. I smoke mild cigars like Swishers in the morning sometimes - I started out not using it but the draw on the Swisher blunt was tight (I put it in a zip-lock with a small boveda for days), so I decided to use my new cigar scissors. They are inexpensive Chinese ones. The amount of control you get with these is great, very easy to make a nice clean cut compared to my experience with guillotines, and the draw was perfect. So, it's something I'd recommend checking out if you want a new way to cut a cigar and aren't happy with guillotines.

I suspect that cigar scissors are not as popular, however, because they are bigger than a guillotine cutter, and therefore, not as portable?

I'd say because of their sheer size you don't see them too often. I personally don't use it as I usually have a punch and a cutter with me. It all comes down to someones personal preference on how you want to snip the cigar.
