  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Is there a good cigar shop in Rockford, IL?

Going to be going to Chicago next month to see Ryan Bingham and my friend doesn't want to go to drive to Plainfield for Baby Back Blues and The Burning Leaf so I thought I would compromise and stop in Rockford as we will be going by Rockford on the way down.

Are there any good cigar bars by Michigan Ave as we will be staying in that area. Going to hit up Goose Island Brew Pub for some drinks and dinner.

Thanks.

Rockford doesnt have much for cigar shops. There is a small one on Riverside called Rudys.

I dont know about Rockford, but there is a small Burning Leaf in chicago about 15 mins from michigan ave on 1648 N Damen.

then there's iwan ries: 19 S Wabash Ave. never been myself, but gets good reviews.

finally there's Tesa Cigars on 464 N Halsted about 20 mins away from Michigan Ave.

good luck.

Or just tell your friend there isnt any substitute for Burning Leaf!

I just don't want to inconvenience my friend. Maybe I will have him stop at a nice shop in Madison. I am going to miss The Burning Leaf in Plainfield. Now that he is divorced from his wife there is no reason for him to go to IL as that's where his ex-in-laws lived.

I might have to find an excuse to get down to the Burning Leaf myself it's just that it's a 3.5 to 4 hour drive for myself one way which makes for a lot of driving time to go to a cigar shop.

Where are you staying on Michigan ave? The Subterranean where he's playing is right on north ave and milwaukee and if you're going to goose island on clyborn, up down cigars is probably your closest shot. its right on N Wells st right at North Ave and Wells. Actually, the small Burning Leaf on Damen, according to the address should be just around the block from the Subterranean. 1600 north is north avenue so it should be just around the corner on Damen. I"ve never been to that one, actually have never been to any of them (they weren't around when I was in Chicago). Iwan Ries is the best shop I've been to in Chitown just be aware they have 9-5ish hours and they were closed on Sundays when I lived there.

Depending on how long you're staying and where you are on Michigan Ave, the leaf should only be about 40 minutes or so. Is your friend a cigar smoker? G1
