  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

So off of Craigslist I picked up this nice little beauty for $50.

However there are a few blemishes on it that I want to take care of if possible.

First of all are fingerprints and the fact that it's an older humidor. Is there any way to put a new finish on it as if it were factory fresh?

Second is this scratch found on the front of the humidor.

Is there any way to blend it in or remove it?

I would stere clear of trying to refinish the whole thing. You don't want to get anything on the interior wood. You could try rubbing some Cherry colored stain over that scrath to get it to blend a little better then maybe som furniture wax to smooth it out. I would have neer noticed it if you didn't show the close up. I'm sure the resident woodworkers can give you some help. ask the 2 listed earlier.
