  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Ok guys,

Just smoked one of these and it definately looked better in the humi than it tasted.
Blah
Everything looked good, purchased from a botl onboard as part of a sampler.
Construction great, burn great, ash razor sharp nice draw just flavorless.
Did I just get a crappy one or have any of you guys had similar experiences?

:dunno:

You're talking about the Reservas, right?

I've heard the late 02's are better than the 03's. However, there's a reason these are still widely available for cheap.

I can attest to this firsthand. December 2002 Reservas were excellent, January 2003 are mediocre at best.

If you are talking about the ELs, I find the 2003 DCs to be terrific cigars, but there are fakes out there.

I've heard a lot of rave reviews of the DC and some hot/some not with the reservas.

I was just about to list a new thread called Cohiba Query.

I used to smoke esplendidos until 2001, when I switched over to Lusi's. I did start smoking the EL's in 2001 with the limited piramide. I have smoked the piramides (2001-2), the Double Corona (2003) and the Sublime (2004). Currently I own two of the Maduro 5's.

I must say - I am very disappointed in Cohiba. With the exception of the 2001, none of the Cohihba's mentioned above have the total package. They start rich, full of raw cacao, leather and that beautiful damp richness that all cubans are known for. After this they fizzle or begin to tasted burned. All of these boxes were purchased at LCDH in either Toronto or Windsor. On top of that my friend has been commenting that his Cohiba robustos have tasted off lately.

What gives? Anyone not finding Cohiba up to par the last 5-7 years? Have I not aged them long enough? I am all ears.

Thanks

I thought the sublimes were very very good and can only be classic give a few more years... I have not had the DC but I've heard nothing but great things about them.

I have not bought any of the Cohiba EL's. Too much money for what you get. I think there are other areas that the cigar budget can go to that give you more bang for your buck so to speak.

The last 2 CoRo I have had have been good. But they could have had some good age on it.
