  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Hey guys whats goin on ? I'm new here but I've been reading a lot of the write ups and reviews and figured maybe I'd pass this question onto you and see what you all have to say. I purchased a torch lighter by colibri probably 16 years ago and it stopped working. I wound up getting at that time a response from colibri that I had to bring it back to where I purchased it and they would replace it for me low and behold I bought the damn thing on vacation and well I'm not going to fly to bring the lighter back. So in the drawer it went. I just found the lighter a few days ago and gI decided to get in contact with colibri and see what they would do about it and they brought to my attention that the original colibri company had closed its doors and went chapter 11, 12, and 13. lol So basically the new company with some of the original employees returned and well they offered me a return of my lighter and they would give me a $99.00 value toward any lighter of my choice. What would you recommend in a torch ? I already have a Xikar element and love it. I don't want to throw away this colibri if I can get something back in its place.

Hey since you have the double flame xikar why not go with a single flame for touch ups. The evoke in black n gold looks really nice. I have only one colibri but they don't make it anymore. Anyone have any of there new lighters?

The old company went belly-up for a reason - probably becaused their lighters didn't work. Good luck with being a guinea pig for the new Colibri.

For me, I would just stick with the Xikar; unless the exchanged Colibri is exactly the $99.00 they are valuing your old one. Then you really won't loose anything by trying the exchange, except maybe the shipping fee.
