  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Hard to play your best people when you have already clinched a spot and home field advantage. Ask most players what they would rather have,,,Super Bowl or a perfect season. If I'm the coach I will let my quarterback play only to keep him sharp and game ready but would not let him play the whole game because all it takes is one play to take him out. Ask Joe Theismann about that. It's always a good idea to give the backup quarter some playing time anyway and a good coach will find ways to get some playing time for them during the regular season. Practice is not the same as a real game and that is why successful teams will play their back ups just like they do in basketball. If you can't go deep into your bench you are only one play away from disaster IMHO.

undefeated seaon means little too nothing unless you win the big one. Just ask the Patriot fans.

Caldwell should've kept Manning in until they had a solid lead. Winning the SB with an 18-1 record is good, but only 19-0 will shut up Mercury Morris.

Recently, it seems like teams that have to fight to get into the playoffs play better than teams that rest their starters at the end.

Winning every game but the big one still makes you an almost winner.
Congrats to the Jet defense.

Very true as 'rust' starts as soon as you stop playing. Last season the Giants were just trying to get thru the playoffs and they didn't get a chance to rest at all and look where they went. The Colts have been a team that clinches too early before and got more rest than they wanted and have lost because of that. It's the coach who can keep his players in game shape and performance that usually wins. I'd never let my players "rest" and get rusty as there is always something that can be done to override downtime.

THANK YOU!!! Anyone who starts a season 8-0 and that guy gets on his soap box. I say go for it all. I'd rather have the perfect season. Hell a lot of those rings go to pawn shops, etc.

I ask everyone one here, who won the 72', 75' superbowls (without lookingn it up). Every year a team wins the Superbowl, but only one teams has gone undefeated. If they win it and go 18-1 or 17-2 they will be just another team that has won the Superbowl..
