I know a lot of the brothers here also vape. I'm considering it and wanted to get some feedback from those that do vape. I'm looking for subjective information on how it affects you health-wise. I know it's much safer than regular cigs, which I can't stand. But I also know it does contain nicotine and inhaling anything is not typically good for you. So, can any brothers give me information?

I vape all day long w/ the cigars mixed in. It doesn't affect me at all from a health perspective and I only vape about 3mg nicotine in my juice. Most of the time I vape 0 nicotine.
There are tons of ppl who claim it is terrible for you, but the real studies from labs and universities say there is no harmful side effects and absolutely zero second hand affect.

I buy most of my supplies from:
http://www.myvaporstore.com/Default.asp
http://www.phantasmvapors.com/Default.asp
http://www.drcrimmy.com/store/pc/home.asp

I started w/ the pen battery style and now have 3 box mods w/ variable voltage, much better solution. IPV mini is what I'd recommend to start: http://www.myvaporstore.com/iPV-Mini-30-Watt-MOD-Pioneer4you-p/p4u-ipv30bk.htm or http://www.myvaporstore.com/Kangertech-KBOX-40W-Mod-p/krkb-ss.htm
and a Kangertech tank like this: http://www.myvaporstore.com/Kanger-Genitank-p/krge-l.htm. I use the Kangertech Sub-ohm tanks and two different sizes but the one I linked is a good starter tank to see if you'll stick w/ it.

I have no affiliation w/ the sites I list, just found them to be reliable over time.

I'll probably start with a pen sytle. The lounge I help out at has a nice selection and they give me a discount. Another question, is in terms of the nicotine content, is 1.8% high? Keep in mind that it's for the flavor and will be treated like a cigar....e.g. not inhaling it. But it's for those times that I want the flavor but don't have time or am in a place where I can't have a cigar or even a cigarello.

Usually nicotine is listed as mg not %. So a 3mg nic level is 3mg per 1ml of fluid. The more nic level the more throat hit, but only if you're inhaling. If you're not inhaling, just use 0 nicotine juice.

a lot of people dont want to hear me when i say this but the Navy published a study on vaping, that all of the big mods that people are doing and the customization is leading to using the wrong material for the coils and overheating (burning) of the cotton, your actually inhaling small amounts of burnt cotton and flakes of metal. do what you will but that is what was passed down to us VIA naval message right before i left the Navy. i dont know much else as its not my thing, but i do know that and it makes sense to me. as far as second hand there isn't any negative affects because its just vapor but its the first hand that i would say is just as bad as cigarettes. just my opinion, and by all means i dont plan on stopping cigars so i dont tell anyone to stop anything else. "if it feels good do it"

There is no long term damage proof yet seeing as the vape market is still relatively new. Once some time passes I'm sure some material will begin to publish. For now it's just a habit forming device.

If your wick is moist you will not get burnt cotton, as soon as you start tasting a burnt flavor you change your coil. As for metal flakes, not a chance unless you're sub-ohm vaping at .2 ohms. Stock coils for the tank I listed are 1.2ohm and 1.8ohm and you run those at 11watts.
Not saying they're wrong, but not sure I'd trust any study by the Navy, they have an agenda as well. I'm ex-Army and the BS I read from them is just as bad.

the list goes on...These are independent sources and not related to the vaping industry as I would doubt most of them since they're vested in the outcome.

I just bought this yesterday. I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm a total n00b. But I dip snuff. Generally 2 tins a day. Last night I "vaped" and I only went thru about a 1/2 tin of snuff in over a 24 hr period. Is it healthy? I have no idea. But it is healthier than dipping 2 tins of snuff a day. I'm a total nic fiend and I'm using 3mg. It seems to be pretty good for me. I'm learning and will be interested in your take on this.

I have no desire to vape. My wife does from time to time and a friend of mine has a girlfriend who does. Whatever floats your boat. I see they now have Vape Cigars--at least would look a little cooler. Just not for me though.

Can anyone that does vape, recommend some good 0% nicotine fluids? Right now in testing out tombstone because the lounge had sample jars that I can dip into. Looking for some nice fruit, berry, chocolate or coffee flavors.

I vape very rarely but I will tell you a pen doesn't give out nearly the amount of flavor that a mod does. I have seen a lot of people go from being sick and constantly congested from smoking cigarettes to being much much healthier smoking a vape. So I have to believe it's a good choice if you're an ex smoker. There is an older BOTL member on here @ItalianCustom that is doing well making vape juice. His is some of the best I've ever had. If you're on Facebook look up a group called The Vapor MD. The people also know a lot and will help you out with questions. I wish you luck though and it can be an enjoyable experience.

Just sent a request to join his group and see what it's about. I gave up cigarettes about 10 or so years ago and I'm not doing it for the nicotine fix (I have cigars for that), but just for the flavor and when I want to smoke but either don't have the time or in a place where I can't have a cigar. I went with the pen because I want to see what I think of it before making a big investment in it with mods, lots of juices, etc. One thing I did notice is that while I was vaping yesterday, it helped curb my appetite.
