So I had an epiphany today.

I moved my 100 count humi to the rec. room in the basement as the weather started to warm up. It's been sitting on top of an old Hanson's ice box I bought at auction years ago.

I looked at the ice box today and thought; this would make a neat humidor. I know it will take a little work, but I like a challenge. I just have to figure out if I should take the old tin lining out or just go over top of it with Spanish cedar. either way I will line it with cedar.

It seems like a great winter project when I get all my tools home.

As anyone tried a similar project?

I saw one a while ago where someone had taken an OLD icebox - the kind that you actually had to put a block of ice into, and converted it into a humi. It looked gorgeous.

As for regular refridgerators/freezers - I've heard it's a pain to keep the humidity correct.

I can't see it because I'm not a member. Needless to say, it seems like a pretty cool idea.
