Prelude
Cornelius & Anthony is a cigar company owned by no stranger to tobacco. Steven Anthony Bailey comes from a lineage of tobacco industrialist dating back to the 1860's. Steven and his father, Mac Bailey, have been dipping into every corner of the tobacco world since the 1990's. Their businesses spread from cigarettes to vape products, pipe tobacco, and now premium hand-rolled cigars. While they are a new company as far as premium cigars go, Cornelius & Anthony's Daddy Mac is their sophomore release after the El Titan de Bronze made Cornelius. Daddy Mac is rolled in Erik Espinosa's La Zona factory. There are 4 sizes the Daddy Mac blend is rolled in to, Gordo, Toro, Robusto, and Corona Gorda. The following review will cover the Robusto format.
"Before The Flame"
Daddy Mac has a Colorado wrapper with some visible veins and seams. The length of the cigar is slightly bumpy. There is a decent triple cap applied. The aroma coming from the stick was of hay. After clipping the cap the cold draw was nicely firm.

1/3 "The Appetizer"
Nice cedar notes immediately greet me as the cigar begins to burn. There is a bit of sweet fruitiness along with pepper. The pepper isn't heavy at all. After it's burning a little while a mild spice and a little earth can be tasted. There is a creamy property to the smoke and chocolate is sensed at this time. The pepper has increased making itself very apparent but it hasn't exactly exceeded any of the front flavors.

2/3 "Main Entrée"
Upon reaching the 2nd, chocolate and cedar are at the base and red pepper is riding right behind them. The spice is still lingering around and the sweetness is a little lighter and less fruity. The profile continues this way for the majority of this section. As the 2nd comes to a close the spice increases significantly and the pepper does a bit as well.

3/3 "Dessert"
The 3rd is much the same as the 2nd with the addition of that light earth I experienced in the 1st. As this gets further down the wood is more present and the spice isn't around so much.

Intensity
This gets up to medium-full.
Construction
In the first half almost every draw produced a fizzing sound, something I've never experienced before. Ash is a black and grey. The Draw is perfect, while smoke production is a bit above average. Burn line is even but not sharp. I think it could benefit from a day of dry-boxing.
Closing Thoughts
It is a good smoke with nice flavors. It's not all that complex and some moments maybe a little boring but the profile is stand up. Not every cigar has to explode with complexity. This is one of those cigars that finds a nice groove and sticks with it. Maybe playing it safe a little but it still delivers. I definitely enjoyed this cigar and will see what some more time in the humidor will do for it.
