  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I was just curious, Who corruped you to cuban cigars? and who have you corrupted?

As for me. I was corrupted by a guy who no longer see post's on CW (or he changed his handle) about 3 years ago. I purchased a 15 pack of aged party shorts and 8 aged Upmann PC's, He also threw in a SP Beli and a SLR Lonsdale. After smoking the Shorts and Upmann PC's for a couple of weeks exclusively. All of a sudden my favorite NC's didn't taste so special anymore and knew it was time to change.

The only person I feel like I have corrupted so far is also a guy from CW. He had only been there a couple of months. We crossed path's after I sold him some SC El Principes there. He liked them so much I sold him another fiver and threw in a bonus BCJ:pitchfork Now he is a professed Boli Ho:headroll: and he mostly smokes cuban cigars except for a few top shelf Fuente and Padron products. We still swap sticks and do splits back and forth.

I'm sure there will be some good finger pointing here in this forum as well. So let's here it.

Well, the person who started me on them was Jerry with a 98 RyJ Ex 4. After that I would have to say it was Todd. Once I was ready to start buying I think I was involved with three straight splits with him! :headroll:

I bought a couple of fivers over at CW from a couple guys. I would say it was really Cliff (cvm4) and Jim (seamus) helping me out with vendors and giving me information.

I'm not totally a cuban whore but I think it is in the works.

I have no clue what Tom is talking about :hysterica

As for me, my first cigar was a Partagas in a tube. I'm still not sure what it was. Anyway, after I joined CW I met up with a couple guys from Jackson and was gifted a Monte #4 and Boli CJ. After I smoked them, I was hooked!

I have no clue how many I've corrupted. Some of which are perusing these here boards!
About who did me in? Well, it was kind of my dad, but my own doing. I bought my Dad some Romeo Churchill Tubos for Fathers Day 2000 (from a local B&M back room!) and it's been downhill from there!

You know, I've always wondered about that. The backroom thing. I've always wondered how many were out there, or if they even existed. I take it they were legit...

That's a good ? I'm sure there are some stores that get them for their regular customers but don't advertise it.

I can't even begin to imagine the outrageous price most would ask...At least considering their prices for NCs.

Lfg2nrg (Thom) gave me my first cuban at Shelley's in DC one week after I joined CW and I never looked back.

I have helped in the corruption of a few. :innocent:

That be the case. Though, after I got a bit more seasoned, I started spotting the occasional fake box that he would get from one of his suppliers. He had his brother bring back boxes from the Havana House in Canada and a "friend" get him stuff from Cancun, I think. I'm guessing most of th efakes came from here.

He usually only dealt in larger format sticks & charged his friends what he usually paid (around $15) and other good customers between 20 & 25. I'd say there were only 20 guys or so he ever let know he had em, but nevertheless, I had my share of Hoyo DCs & RJ Churchills in that back room for many years!!!

I corrupted myself...uh...you know what I mean.

I started getting all the catalogs from Thompsons, CI, Famous, Holts, etc...but was intrigued enough to locate some honest to goodness cubans for myself. First one was a box of '00 Party Perfectos(Still have the box for sentimental reasons...I use it for my "tools").

I thought I was the shit man...I must've given over half the box away because I was so proud that I actually got them on my own. Funny stuff now that I think about it.

Without a doubt is was the kind generousity of brother John, (JOHN C 81 on CW) who gifted me a few RyJ Churchill EL 2001 Tubos. They were like tasty Heath bars mixed with roasted cherries. A taste I have not been able to capture in a RyJ since. I salute you Brother in Arms, John Coleman!

Merry Christmas Bros!!
I don't mean to be a scrouge, but there isn't anything as a RyJ churchill EL 2001 Tubo. They did slip out some Romeo y Julieta Exhibicion No. 2 EL's in 2000 that are very rare.

I got started on the path of righteous cigars, (cuban cigars) by puffdaddy, who used to post over at cA. I met the guy once and he sent me about $100 worth of smokes without my even asking. Since then, I have eliminated all of my non cuban cigars. I am a self professed cuban cigar snob. I have tried to corrupt as many people as humanly possible!!!!:flying:

Is it possible to have corrupted yourself? I picked up a box of Monte#2's, BBF, and RYJ petite pyramids this past summer, and I have slowly noticed my stash grow more and more habanos. As to the number I have corrupted - best guess 3-4 at this point, but will gladly corrupt more.

And then there was Todd who sent me a welcome bomb and My Santa sent me some CC the guy next door gave me a few MC hell I think everyone has a CC hook up except me. I think that will change this year I have to get in on one of those box passes! So I think Todd started it all Thanks!
