the saltlick for pre-game festivities? michael's crew makes mine look like a bunch of die hards.
I wouldn't go that far Jorge. My wife actually used the term "pussies" to describe the "tailgate at 5:15" crew you roll with.

It's the first time I've ever heard her use that word in that context. Seriously, I know those guys were likely concerned about their chicks whining about the heat. however, we just get under a tent and drink really cold beer. if my chick can handle it, anyone can. You should just really tell them you want to head out early. They always have some grand scheme of getting there at some reasonable time (3 o'clock this time), but for some reason it never works out that way (5:00 this time). I'll be there early always, and the o-zone (bball) tailgate i was at this wknd. was great. Really small and laid back with a huge TV and satellite with espn gameplan subscription. You, Michael, Quadry, whomever are more than welcome i'm sure. Just bring a 12-pack or something and all is well. I brought nothing this time and tried to give $ donation, but they wouldn't take it.

To me, there's just nothing like being at the staduim for a good part of the day getting fired up for the game. Also, Michael, if you get down there a couple of hours before, we can always locate a ticket for you.

WTF is with all of the TBAs on the schedule? Frau Evil and I are talking about making an afternoon game this season, but can't plan if we don't know which games are afternoon games...

And we already know we can't make the Tech game.

Rice game is at 6:00.
I would guess that CO may be earlier. a few of the TBA's should be cleared up within the next 2 weeks.

shame you can't make the tech game, since Legends is tentatively scheduled to make the jaunt down from anchorage for that one. I foresee myself trying to rent a room to sleep in for the weekend at cool river or something.

I should know by then end of this week what our plans are for October. Baby Legends permitting, we plan to be out good and early before the game to tailgate. A LOT.

And Scott, it's Fairbanks, not Anchorage. 350 miles farther north. :smokingco

Scott, I couldnt find parking around where you told me. I suggested to the guys that I was with that we draw straws. Loser has to drop off the rest of us and be the bitch that has to find parking. They weren't down with that.

We ended up kicking at Ringers. Btw, not a bad place. But holy humanity... it was a zoo in there.

Michael, basically, if you go north on trinity from downtown, you'll see about 4 garages on your left. they are $5 lots, and there is always space available. you can get in from the other side, the street that runs into Scholtz's. The lots start just to the south of scholtz's, and they go on for a couple of blocks.

the closer it gets to kickoff the further away you have to park. unless you have a parking pass. we park a block from the tailgate spot.

I hate paying for parking. To me, thats almost as dumb as paying for bottled water.

supply and demand rules everything. they can charge to park anywhere for miles around, since they know that they can.

there is plenty of free street parking if you get there around noon. the longer you wait the further away you have to park, or the more you have to pay to stay within a decent walking distance.

best bets is near the bob bullock texas history museum/brackenridge/tennis courts area. followed by west campus, north campus. I've never parked near disch-falk or the eastside, but it seems that is the first place that most people go to, thus filling up faster since there are fewer places to park.
