  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

... and, no, this is not a political thread (tho I spose the previous remark makes it one by apophasis [what're ya gonna do?])

Someone has offered to sell me a crook mold, from the factory in Red Lion PA that went out of business. You take a parejo, put it in this mold, the mold has wavy surfaces, not slots, and so you take out a wavy cigar with two flat sides. For some reason, flavored crooks were a big thing once.

Anyone ever tried crooks?
Anyone have an interest in this mold?

That thing is wild! I work damn hard to have even/straight sticks. Making it wavy on purpose is something I'm struggling to wrap my simple mind around but it could be a cool gimmick.

Your thread title had me worried, I thought a vendor had screwed you over.

Smoked many Crooks (rum soaked cigars)

I don't see any advantage to taking a perfectly good cigar and bending it into a possible draw problem by squishing into a crooked shape. I also don't think Crooks cigars were long filler rolled entubado. Loose filler would probably bend better and be less affected.
