  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I had one of these over the weekend. Fiancée bought me a surprise sampler called "Tapout sampler" from Cigars.com as a gift. This is from another site for the description

"Even stout men will be overwhelmed with its pure, undiluted, concentration of spice. Punisher is crafted for the minority, the insatiable ligero lovers. The juxtaposition of deep, dense flavors, searing spice, and classical construction deliver a righteous blend with layer after layer of sand-pounding, toe-curling, full-bodied power. The lips will burn. The head will swim. The tummy will ache. The eyes will warm. Sweat will collect. The heat will render you prone. Ligero-loving converts: this is a feature, not a bug. Nothing short of a religious experience. Unlike any other."

That pretty much summed it up. Not much of one to pick out flavors but as I said in the "todays smoke" thread I could have sworn I was just sucking on the insides of a jalapeño pepper it was nothing like I've ever gotten from a cigar before.
Nice white ash though that held strong and right up my ally for a nice full strong cigar after you get past the mouth on fire part.

Sorry not much of a review rather more of my thoughts on this cigar.

Thanks for sharing. I was a little interested before, but now I'll easily pass. Not really a fan of strength for the sake of strength...gotta be flavorful, that's why I smoke.

Another review I read said it tasted of Black Pepper and cinnamon. I'm one of those people who sucks at picking out flavors so I don't try. Cigars are either good or not good to me. This was alright to me, just that damn heat off the bat.

Thanks for the review! I've found many of the CI/Cigars.com exclusives to be surprisingly good (Man o War line, Diesel, etc). I'll definitely give this one a try if I come across it.

EXACTLY!

I love a good strong cigar, if it has the flavour profile to back it up.

I also love a mild-as-milquetoast cigar, if it has a great flavour profile.

Flavour should ALWAYS come first, in my opinion.

It's like making a movie entirely based on special effects. If you don't have a good story and good characters, the special effects can only take you so far.

Call me a weenie or a pussy or a bitch or whatever else you want (be creative!), but not only does the strength gimmick not appeal to me, but nicotine dosings like what these sort of sticks promise make me green. I remember smoking a huge Opus X RdC while on vacation this past summer, and by the time I was finished, I was feeling a little ill... and sure enough my cousin I was with said I had literally turned a pale green, like... I was a zombie.

So, that said, no interest. Not a huge fan of Cu-Avana anyway. I will smoke the Intensos if I have them, just as a party smoke, or to hand out to people.

I just smoked this stick this evening - and holy crap is it intense, they must dip that wrapper in habanero sauce. It's a good smoke once you wipe that ridiculous "pepper sauce" off the tip.....not for the meek, trust me.
