Stopped into Cigar and Tabac, my local B&M for a quick smoke. There was a guy talking to the owner and I recognized him but couldn't place who he was. After a quick google search I asked him if he was Carlos Diez. He said yes and we talked for a while and he gave me a cigar. After handful of additional questions he went out to the car and brought in a couple more smokes and a hat. One was the Cuba Aliados Miami ?double toro?. It was unbanded and out of his private stash. I believe he said it's a new size they are going to release. It is fantastic! Oak with leather then cedar and spice. Great stick and I highly recommend it for the medium strength with great flavor crowd.
Wrapper – Habano
Binder – Dominican Republic
Filler – Nicaragua
Here's a quote from Stogie Review.
"Without hesitation I'm going to award the Cuba Aliados Miami The Great Torpedo Golden Seal of Approval. Its legit. There is something special about it. While its woodsy (cedar) and peppery flavor profile is a profile we can find in many cigars, there is something uniquely refined in the Miami that sets it apart from crowd.
