  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Smoked this one under the starry Afghanistan night sky.

This cigar comes in a white "Operation Enduring Freedom" cedar lined tube, and sells for about $7.50 at the shoppette.

This one spent about 2 or 3 weeks in my humidor at 70%. By itself, the wrapper had a nice sweet aroma. Immediately before I smoked it, it smelled very much like honey, but this could be an aroma absorbed by a collection of CAOs I got a week ago. Wrapper was nice, the seams were visible, but a nice tight wrap.

Strength I'd say was average. I was slightly light headed afterward.

Flavor right from the start was a woody cedar overtone. This flavor stayed pretty consistent throughout the cigar, perhaps getting stronger near the end. This one tasted similar to the other Centenarios I've smoked, the Pyramid #9 and #7, although the #7 had hints of milk chocolate here and there. This one didn't have that.

There was a mild pepper zing to this cigar also. More zing than the CAO Brazilia I smoked earlier this week.

Smoke volume was more than I would have expected for such a thin stick. But all of my smoking has been in the dark, so it's hard to really compare it with the larger sticks I've had. This one left a dry feeling in my mouth.

Burn was excellent all the way down. Very slightly wavy, no real problem. This one lasted 1 hour 25 minutes before the smoke started getting too warm.

Overall, I'd say this one was OK. But not worth the price I paid at the shoppette. Given some of the other smokes I've experienced, I'll be reluctant to come back to the centenario line at the prices I've been paying. It's a nice smoke, and not bad. But it's not special either.

Next week I'll be smoking a CAO of some sort. Probably the Mx2, as that is the one I am most interested in trying.
