  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Yes, it will tell you what the hygrometer is reading and you can see what the +/- is relative to 70%. If it has a reset button then you would have to use one that is 75% to be able to correct it.

Yeah, you can also just do a basic salt test or get the boveda calibration pack. They are pretty cheap...

I would strongly recommend using the Boveda calibration kit. I think I paid about $5 for mine. I tried using the salt test and, even after 2-3 weeks and multiple resets, my hygrometer was never accurate. Actually, to be fair, I really don't think I used the right salt/water mix. When I bought the calibration kit, I placed my hygrometer inside, came back the next day, adjusted it so it read 75%, put it back in and checked the next day. It still read 75%. All that time screwing around with the salt and water when I could have had it done for $5?

Some guys have really good luck with the salt test but I didn't.

Yep, that's why I asked about the boveda, I did several salt tests on several meters and still get different results...

My problem is I can never fix my digital to the correct RH once I do the test. Such a pain in the ass. The last time I needed to adjust it down by like 12 and I ran out of clicks to bring it down.
