My guess is they were very popular in the old days (pre 1960s) when smaller ring gauges were popular. For me, smaller gauge cigars get overheated quick and a mouthpiece keeps the smoke cool without changing the qualties. I have a 50rg that a rarely use.
Pretty cool. I didn't even know cigar mouthpieces was a thing.

Huh that's pretty interesting, never seen anything like it. Are they from back in the sixties, or did someone make them currently?

Good to know. I'm always looking for different mouthpieces. I have a few briars from Mr Brog and two lucite (with briar inserts) from Updown Cigars.
Boswell's pipes also makes them from briar. He does have them up for sale on his website from time to time in various RG's. And reasonably priced too.
