  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

The bug man was nice enough to hand out a rebanded smoke to each of us at the HERF. I got #18 and it is a mystery to me what it is.

I ended up smoking this on the way home from the HERF at about 11:00 at night so I didn't get pics... wish I would have. Before I go any
further I must confess that I am not very good at picking out flavors in a cigar. My taste buds tell me if I like it or not and that's about it.

Pre-light aroma was pretty nice but there wasn't much of it. The wrapper seemed pretty thick and heavy but not very oily... kinda dry. It
had capped head and the foot was uncovered and was approximately 5x42. The pre-light draw was slightly tight but not too bad... it didn't
seem to effect the smoking of the cigar. Again it had a nice flavor and I could tell it was going to be fairly spicy.

Upon first lighting the cigar the spicyness was very apparent... in fact it pretty much overpowered everything else. The spicyness lasted
throughout the first third of the smoke. The aroma of the cigar was very nice. At about the end of the first third one of the guys with me
asked if the flavor profile changed because the aroma seemed to. At that time I hadn't noticed it but not two puffs later the spicyness
started to decline to a point that it was hardly noticable. The second third of the cigar was made up of the decline of the spicyness and other
flavors that I couldn't identify but enjoyed... I enjoyed it very much in fact. After the second third the cigar started to get a little bitter. I
assume this was because of the slightly tight draw or maybe a little resting time might help... I dunno. The cigar burned great and lasted
about 30 minutes.

As for was it is... I first thought was either a Dirty Rat or MoW Puro Authentico but both of those have a pigtail style head and the
MoW has a covered foot. I also considered Tatuaje considering the spicyness and it remarked to me that it smelled very "Pete Johnsonesc". I
honestley have not idea what it is but can't wait to find out... I want some more :eyebrow:

Thanks for the cigar Dan... I enjoyed it

I'm very curious as to what it is. The flavors certainly sound like a DR or MoW PA, but the construction certainly doesn't fit them. I loved both, so hopefully it's a 3rd smoke to add to the humi!

so, you only have three smokes in your humi? you need some?

thanks for the review, and count me in for the piqued interest crowd as well!
Hahahaha no. I meant third in that the rats and PAs being the first two of those cigar types. Wise ass. Lol

I love these blind reviews, there should be more coming. Number 18 was a Padron Londres. I think these are a trifecta of goodness. The price point isn't going to break anyone's wallet, the flavors are great, and the size is awesome. Glad you enjoyed it Larry.

LOVE the Padron Londres. The one I smoked didn't fit this description, but god that was a good little smoke.
