First off, I apologize for the absence of any sort of picture. I guess you'll have to take my word for it on the matter of the appearance, but since that's already the case for everything else, I hope that won't be a major problem.
This cigar was suggested to me by the salesman when I asked for something of 'medium power'. Had I asked for something inexpensive as well, I doubt the cigar would have made the selection, as it does have a rather high price.
However, once you take it out of the cellophane, you see that you get what you pay for. I think the official name of this vitola is petite corona, though I'd sooner label it as a perla. In other words, ring size 41, length 4 inches. The wrapper is very smooth and the color of light milk chocolate. The construction of the cigar seems immaculate, meaning there's no variations in the firmness along the whole length, it has a nice, easy (though not too loose) draw and a neat line of burn. Only towards the end did the burn get a bit wavy, but it still didn't require any corrections. On a cigar this small a size, that may not seem very impressive, but I've had worse in that regard.
The cigar puts out decent ammounts of smoke and the flavor is, to me at least, very pleasant. Lighter notes of grass and faint herbs are on the palate, while the retrohale reveals darker tones, of beans and cocoa. The taste stays the same throughout the whole length of the cigar, which some might find pretty boring, but on the other hand, the taste was pleasant and in such a small vitola, you can't really ask for much complexity. The cigar is very light and quite resistant to overheating, never getting bitter. I forgot to keep track of the time of smoking, so I can only place an estimate of about 45 minutes.
Bottom line: a simple, yet very pleasant experience. If the price tag was a little lower, I'd buy a five pack or two. As it is, I'll probably pick up one every once in a long while. I should probably mention that prior to lighting up the Davidoff, I've had a streak of really crappy smokes, so the Davidoff, with its pleasant taste and perfect draw and burn was like manna from the heavens. Or at least a very welcome refreshment.
