  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Im gonna give this a shot. I came up with a format for a FB group I started with some friends and am using that here.
I welcome feedback.

Here is my review:

Brand: Davidoff
Name: Millenium
Size: 5 1/4 x 50
Type: Natural (buts it's a nice dark toasty color)
Shape: Robusto

First impression: A nice dark toasty color (almost a Maduro but considered a natural). Lightly veiny wrapper with a dry look. If railways thought cigars that are wrapped in cedar looked drier that those not. The tube this stick comes in is lined with cedar. The initial aroma at the foot is cedar (again, the tube lining) with toast.
Cut: Straight cut with my trust Xikar Xi2.

First draw: Flavors are along the woodsy, toasty, nutty for me. I get the distinct flavor of toast with this cigar. Maybe a bit of walnut. The draw is a medium draw for me. The way I enjoy it. The burn is after the light is stellar, almost effect. The smoke is a white/blue with little resting smoke but great draw smoke. The first few puffs bring out a leathery flavor along with that walnutty, toast. The after flavor has a hint of sweetness to it. Not like cakes roasting or candy, more like a muffin or baked good....bread...yes, a wheat bread! Toasted wheat bread for sure!

First 3rd: this is a decent little cigar. It's been years since I had one but I'm quickly remembering back and how it's smoking the same as the first one I had back around 2002 ish. The sweetness is gone and it's now more of a smokey, woodsy, leathery flavor. It's burning a bit hot but I remember it doing that too. It almost forces you into smoking slower and enjoying it.
I ashes it only once so far. The ash is tight and very white inside which shows as a light grey on the outside. The ash holds together very well. Though I ashes it I did not feel it was going to fall off yet. Burn is consistent, not perfect anymore but as even as you could expect from a cigar. I didn't remember this as a strong cigar but it is packing a punch in the first third. That's ok, it is Friday

Second 3rd: The burn on this second third is back to stellar, damn near perfect. I've got close to an inch and a half of ash. Flavor shave mellowed and blended together. A nice creamy toastiness is abundant. The smoke levels are excellent and I've slowed down my puffing to prevent heat build up and tongue burn. I'm doing well and the strength is still there though it's not overpowering it is a nice cigar buzz.

Final 3rd: This is where it ended for me. A few puffs after the second third I was hit with a big taste of tar/charcoal and the heat multiplied with even the shallow puffs. Up till then everything in the second third was still applicable. Ilhave to remeber to leaflet he upper band on this smoke and only get to that point with it.

How long did it take to smoke: 3:45 - 4:45 (60 minutes)

Did you have to re-light and how often: Not even on once!

What were you drinking with it: Hoegarrden

Recommend: yes as an after dinner smoke
I was sitting here all relaxed writing this review then some big ass black flying thing came long and scared the living shit out of me! I'm no longer relaxed but I saved my beer from whatever this thing was...LOL

Not bad brother, wish it wouldn't have burned hot and ruined the end for you.
It happens! I'm not disappointed, it's still a good smoke. I've been eyeballing the Davidoff Maduro sitting in my stash but am also looking forward to a Bahia for a second go around now that I have a bundle :)
