Seems like there is more bitching this year. All in all I wasn't too impressed with this race. Maybe its cause it was a restricted plate track and I'm not big on those. Would of liked to seen Newman or Sadler take it from Johnson tho.

I think one reason the race wasn't as exciting as I had hoped was because of the weather. The crews had set up the cars for different weather, and the cars were behaving badly. This is something that happens at every race, but it was more pronounced this time. For a while, I was afraid that it was going to rain.

This is actually the first time I have watched the Daytona 500 since Dale Earnhardt died, and I was suprised by the number of drivers that I have never heard of. All in all, I think it was a pretty good race. I know I had a great time, but then again, I started drinking bloody marys about a half hour before they started the engines.

For some reason, I could not get my gf intrested in the race......
I guess she isn't perfect . :(

Didn't get in on the smack talk today. Too busy making chili and watchin' Speed channel. Hell of a race though. :glassesgr Gordon seemed pleased enough considering his end positon. :crying: 'Course, it could be because he owns the winner! :grinFU: Good show Jimmy! And Smoke just sealed the :1st::ahole::driving:

Oh, and here is my team:

1. Jeff Gordon
2. Elliott Sadler
3. Kyle Busch
4. Martin Truex Jr.
5. Clint Bowyer
6. Travis Kvapil

Hey Brad, don't envy your team meeting this week! Keep Tony and Matt on opposite sides of the room!:hysterica

I think the main reason Gordon was pleased, inspite of his finishing position, is because his team worked really good together and really got the car fixed at the end of the race.

Compared to the middle of last season that is huge for them.

This is true. He ran pretty well until smoke didn't give him any room and they went into the wall. He will have a pretty good season with Steve and the gang this year. Even with the body damage, repeat pitting and no 3rd gear, he ran like a champ.

I tried staying awake but I fell asleep for most of it. Doggone it. I wish Trackpass or whatever it's called wasn't $65 a year. I guess I could watch the replay at 2am... lol

I HATE restrictor plates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take the damned things off and let the boys run! Good grief! What are they going to risk more than they do now with the massive crashes every time they race there???

Not to start trouble, I agree Tony gave Jeff no room, however Jeff should know how to stay in his groove and not slide up the track.

who am I to talk tho, my driver stuck a wheel in Kyles window.
