I tried my first Diablo Picante this evening. It is a petite corona size and comes in a box of 40 for about 80 dollars.
So, I went into this with a $2 stick expectation.
It met and exceeded these expectations. Nice dark wrapper, some veins, but ok for a maduro (oscuro?) wrapper. Good draw, slightly deliberate but in a good way.
On the light, it is slightly spicy on the lips with a deep sweetness, not overpowering but nice. The wrapper reminds me of a Partagas Black or LGC Serie R maddie flavor.
As we go, it stays pretty much the same, with the spice moving to the back of the tongue, and a sweetness mixed with a kind of black cherry or cooking chocolate flavor. I'm also picking up on some coffee bean notes.
All in all, a nice cigar. For the price, it is a fantastic 45 minute smoke! Go get some.
