Not the mad fladder!
First I need to thank Tom (Gokian) for gifting me a BUNCH of these cigars!
The Diesel is a nicely constructed short torpedo. The wrapper is very tough and rough to the touch. I swear this cigar has rosacea (isn't there a cream you can get for that). The foot has a barnyard smell and coffee notes on the unlit draw.
Once lit I tasted a dark woody flavor and cocoa. There was a faint spice through the nose. The finish seemed a bit short in the beginning of the smoke and I was surprised that this stick started out medium in flavor and body (I was expecting a bit more kick right off the bat).
The burn was good and the ash held strong for 2 inches before falling.
After the first inch the flavor and body started to pick up. I noticed flavors ranging from coffee, bitter chocolate, a sweet maple taste, and even hints of cinnamon. Flavor did turn bitter during the final inch.
This cigar is a winner especially if you factor in the price point. These sell in a box of 30 for under $100 dollars. I was expecting a power house of a cigar (started medium with little finish, but gained strength to medium/full), but it was still a respectable smoke. I think I have found a new daily smoke to add to the rotation! Think this bad boy will pair nicely with my morning coffee!
