This place IS my vacation
Been waiting to try this until i could review it for my fellow BOTL's
It's so hot outside...almost miserable and im sitting in the shade.
Cigar: Diesel Unholy Cocktail
Size: 5 x 56 Bellicoso
Wrapper: Pennsylvania Broadleaf
Binder: Nicaragua (Condega and Esteli)
Filler: Nicaragua (Condega and Esteli)
Strength: Medium Full Bodied
Prelight and Construction: The first thing I noticed was that the wrapper had an extremely velvety feel to it. Something that i have yet to experience in a cigar. It was very different and cool to see just how diverse tobacco can be grown and aged. The prelight draw was heavy and dark earth and some darker woody notes that were barely noticeable over the earthy taste/smell.
First Third: The cigar started off strong with a heavy spice that stayed long on my lips. it was very pleasant, however. The flavor soon mellowed out and became extremely smooth and well-balanced; sporting tastes of sweet wood and sweet earth. A huge flavor change early-on.
Second Third: The smooth flavors are carrying well into the second third. it is also burning extremely slow
The cigar is not overly complex, which i admire in my cigars...allows my young palate to enjoy it more. The main flavors right now are sweet earth and a nice long spice on the finish.
Final Third: In my opinion, the only change late in my smoke was that the sweet flavors were made more sweet. Also, there was a bitter but not unpleasant coffee taste that came in as well.
Burn/Ash/Draw: The burn was great, only one touchup from me was all that it needed. Ash was dirty and held on forever! Draw was also just the way i like it. Produced A TON of thick smoke that hung in the air. Loved this cigar and the size! Very box-worthy IMO
Thanks for reading guys!
