  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

And I saw one on a YouTube vid of a walnut pipe.... I'd be concerned about some of those woods. Maple would be ok, no tannins in maple, but walnut, I don't know.

Missouri Meerschaum makes some maple pipes. I don't have any but a friend does and he says it's a fine smoker.

I have heard it said, many times, that the only woods that work well, for making pipes, is Briar (Various Types and Grades), Maple and Cherry. Pipes have been made from many different types of wood but they usually burn out quickly.
