  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Discovery of a fine pairing

This morning I was watching a boxing match between Bradley & Peterson. I have been a lifelong fan of boxing, I love a good match, and this proved to be a good match.

While watching this match I was having a strong cup of coffee with Splinda sweetener and creamer, sorry that’s the way I like my coffee. While watching the match and drinking my coffee, I decided to light up a cigar. The cigar was a Perdomo Lot 23 Maduro Toro, one I have smoked before, but never paired with coffee. Like I said I’m a lifelong boxing fan and this was the first time anything grabbed my attention away from the match.

The pairing of the sweet coffee and the Perdomo stick, seemed to bring out the sweet tobacco, coffee, earthy spicy taste. I was so wrapped up in the match and the taste of the cigar and coffee that I would not break of and get my camera ready for photos. Here is a pic of the aftermath.

Great! I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but I've been finding more and more how well many cigars pair with coffee--often it makes both taste better somehow, I don't really get it, lol.

Hmmm...

No disrespect, and in my humblest of opinions...

I beleive a cigar should be great on it's own. Without help.

If you blend a great cigar, and create it with superior craftsmanship; you shouldn't have to add anything to enjoy it to its fullest.

Kinda like taking a Ferarri and adding a blower....Why?

I beleive a cigar should be enjoyed without anything that may either take away from or "enhamce" the intended flavor profile.

Clint, you are anything, but Humble...

However I can agree that a cigar should stand on it's own. But a lot of us drink coffee and or like to drink something while we smoke. Some things go better with a cigar than others. I still think Dr Pepper is the best.

Though I agree a great cigar should stand on it's own it can be enjoyed and enhanced by good drink or food; a great wine goes well with a great steak, even though they would do just fine by themselves. A Ferrari is great but a Ferrari can get paired and be made better!

Now that's how you maximize the enhancement. Although the lady standing would do that on her own.

Hey...I am humble.

I mean that when I say it, because I don't want to step on another Brother's toes and/or act like my mere opinion is fact.

...You jerk!

I like different things with my cigars. A good bourbon, sparkling cider, root beer, coffee and beer. But to each their own we all have different taste. Yes, there are some cigars that taste fine on their own.
