DIY chaveta

This is kind of obvious but I haven't seen it mentioned.

If you want to try a chaveta instead of the pizza cutter you've been using, but you don't want to pay $30, then you can always pick up a kitchen pastry scrapper at your local Dollar Store (once we're allowed to go out again). Just draw an arch on the blade and grind it down. Then sharpen it. If you don't own a grinder then ask a friend to do it for you. It only takes a few minutes at ends up costing about $2.

Oh thats a pretty good idea.

I found a 6"x18" sheet of stainless steel for $7 bucks at Home Depot. I made 5 chavetas out of it. Gave me room to play with size and shape.
