I heard this trick years ago and haven't been able to find it on the internet...
Someone once told me that he always exhaled into his pipe tobacco jar before resealing it.
His theory was that the exhaled air not only returns some of the moisture that the tobacco loses when you open the jar but it also introduces nitrogen into the jar which then forms a layer over the tobacco since it's heavier then oxygen. This layer of nitrogen is inert and reduces the oxidation of the leaves.
Anybody else hear of this idea?
Of course you may not want to do it after your anchovy and onion pizza.
