  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Does it change?

I was sitting down with a beer and a Gurka (Can't remember what it was since I had already removed the band) when an emergency struck and I had cancel my smoking plans. That was 3 weeks ago. I had already cut the end of the cigar when my plans changed. I stuck it back in the humi where it has been since.

Here's the question: Does leaving a cigar cut but unsmoked for an extended period of time change the flavor?

Curious as to everyone's input.

I have done that several times, It doesn't change the taste of the cigar.
I think it would slightly if you left them age that way over a long period of time.
I have left mine that way for a month or so until I got back to them. Never had a problem.

I've never noticed nor would in theory it change anything unless it's an aging situation and even then, I wouldn't begin to know how.

I don't know how it possibly could, the ingredients are still the same and the cigar is kept in the same conditions. No taste change could be possible IMHO.

As already stated, since there's no change on the cigar's composition, ye won't taste a difference (it still is exactly what it was before ye cut it, is it not?); although there is the risk of unraveling, so therefore ye shouldn't do it as a common practice.
