  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Dogfish head 120 Min IPA

The Holy Grail of beer - according to DFH.

Ok,
So this beer is supposed to be served cool not cold.

I poured it out and it was very thick.
Not stout thick, kinda like a thin maple syrup.

Tastes much much sweeter than I expect.
Im told(again by DFH) the sweetness subsides with age.
It is fairly thick and very strong on the alchohol side.

The hops are very very light.
flowery, not the bitter IPA hop you are used to.
Probably cuz they are offset by the sweetness.

Im only 3-4 sips in, but this beer is VERY complex and very different from what I expect.

I expected a super hoppy beer.
What we have hear is a beer/cordial that is somewhat hoppy, sweet and floral.

Now it is tasty, but very very different.

If you find one pick it up just to try.

Alrighty, I keep hearing about this stuff but have never come across it. Is there a way online somewhere to find what dealers carry it locally?

You are not going to find it in NC, the ABV is too high for us. The best bet is to go up to VA and find a store. Or find a caring soul to ship to you.

http://www.dogfish.com/brews-spirits/fish-finder.htm will assist you in finding something

Oh, didn't know that. Well, I'll be in VA again next weekend so I guess I better stock up!

Had my first 120 tonight.

Much more drinkable than I thought it would be with 18abv.

Like the Op said, not as crazy hoppy as I was expecting. Found it to be very drinkable.

All in all a fantastic beer I wish I had more of, could source easily and not cost 11.99 a bottle.

Haven't had the 120 Minute but was able to enjoy the 90 Minute yesterday at Tasty Beverage Company and it was damn good in my opinion. "Hop Notch" by Uinta Brewing is a damn fine IPA too!

Anybody try "Hopsickle" by Moylan Brewing, it's a Triple IPA.

We had it on tap at a bar I worked at. Nice mouthfeel with a good hoppy nose, if memory serves correctly.

Pliny the Younger is a nice Triple IPA as well that comes out once a year, but year-to-year it varies.
