  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

This is my first review so excuse me if it sucks!

Lanceros have been hit or miss for me. Maybe I don't smoke enough of them, but many times the draw is so tight I give up before the final third. Not the case this time, the draw is perfect with just enough resistance and a ton of gorgeous smoke. Maybe it's the 6 month rest this took, but I'm really liking this. Classic Pepin spice that builds and lingers in the back of my throat, but never over powering and easily tamed by a sip or two of the Angel Share Bourbon I'm drinking. By the second half the spice has mellowed and I can retrohale an entire puff without my eyes watering. Flavors are consistent throughout: rich tobacco, leather, a bit of anise that's accentuated by the Bourbon. Draw remains perfect and the burn is razor sharp, as are most small ring gauged cigars. The last third has actually mellowed quite a bit but the smoke becomes a little bitter and acrid in the last inch, so I end it there. Overall a very enjoyable smoke. These can be found for around $7 and are well worth it.

I think i have a new cigar and bourbon to try out, which is perfect timing since I just finished the last of my Scotch, and I typically have been switching to bourbon in the hit summers if AZ.

Is Papa Fraser coming back to MN this summer?
Might need to start planning...
Unfortunately not this summer. We are heading up to Idaho in a few weeks though. We are looking at next year to come back for a visit, maybe during he Fourth, but more likely closer to Labor Day. I know we am long over due, and we can't wait to meet Luke and Leia.

Nice review. I have only one request. Just don't let it be the last. We need more reviews on here again. And yours was perfect for a beginner IMO. Keep doing them!

Great review of a great stick!

One suggestion: break up the big block of text. Maybe separate by thirds or something. :)

Dude! Thanks for the memories. I was happy to score some originals from an old BOTL'r back in the day. Sure wish I had some more. Thanks for the review.
