I had a brief fling with my first OpusX when I got home from our 12-hour, white knuckle drive today. She was in the shower when I lit up the Opus X Love Affair. I knew I'd be safe with this little guy since my wife is a hot water hog and regularly spends an hour or more behind the curtain.
This stick has a nice reddish-brown wrapper and has solid construction.
The first couple of puffs of this little bad boy packed a punch of spice, pepper and tobacco. A hint of cedar and cocoa were barely in the background. About a half-inch in, a really great cherry hint kicked in and persisted with varying degrees of strength throughout the stick. Cocoa and cherry really dominated and I would classify this as a solid medium.
With a smoking time of about 25 minutes I was safe... but the lipstick on the collar, so to speak, was the awesome smell this left on my clothes.
(EDIT: I've decided it was longer... probably 45 min. I need to start remembering to time it...)
I was really expecting the Opus X hype to interfere with my enjoyment. But really, this was an incredible little cigar with a ton of flavor. I don't care about the band, although it is pretty damn cool.
score: 92
