  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

If anyone hasn't had the privilege of smoking this Don Pepin offering, you are missing out on one of the best maduro's I have ever smoked. I have a box of these in my coolidor and I am ordering two more in the Robusto size and Torpedo. Featuring a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper and Nicaraguan binder and filler, medium-to-full bodied smoke.

First 1/3, nice smooth pepper notes, slight hints of coffee. Construction was near perfect. No visible seems or veins, nice double cap, with a perfect draw.

Halfway through, stronger espresso, coffee, dark chocolate coming through. Burn is perfect, as is the draw. Incredible flavor profile. Final third is much of the same, with a stronger pepper finish than before. Worthy of 91+ ratings across the board....if you are a maduro lover, you have to give the 601 a try!

Great cigar and a solid review!

I've been burning through these a lot lately. Just in case you didn't know - Don Pepin does roll these, but they are sold by EO brands. Try the green label sometime - it's a different wrapper but just as tasty.

These sticks are fantastic. The value on these is through the roof imo. Really, the value on the entire 601 line is. I picked up my 601 blues for $4.25 a stick shipped. Not many sticks can touch it at that price.
