  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Another cold, snowy day calls for a short smoke. The Firecracker is an all around wonderful smoke. I see a lot of reviewers breaking cigars into thirds in order to describe the changing flavor profile of a cigar, in this case I would say that the entire duration of the smoke was a spicy, peppery 35-40 minutes. I usually smoke these a bit quicker but while going for a long walk I decided to slow down and make it last.

Upon lighting, the pepper hits you right off the bat. There is no easing into this short powerhouse.

I have noticed a bitter taste from a lot of the shorter smokes that I have had, in this case even though it burns a little hot there is not even the slightest hint of bitterness to it.

The construction of this smoke is unbelievable, this thing clung to its ash for dear life (while walking an over hyper husky, not sitting perfectly still going for the longest ash trophy lol) for almost the entire length (3" lol). At this point it is still a pepper bomb although I think the spiciness calmed slightly.

As I neared the end of the walk, I had to pull out the Xikar multitool yet again (maybe xikar should pay me for talking about the multitool so much :eyebrow:) to nub it without catching fire to my gloves.

I love this cigar and recommend it to anyone in search of that 30min smoke. If you enjoy the pepper of DPGs and Tatuajes, this should hit the spot. I think I smoked about a dozen of these in the last 3 weeks or so and I am starting to think that the 1 box I have might not be enough. Too bad my cooler wasn't a little larger lol.

Thanks 25.

Anyone know how this compares to the Nub?
That is actually something I wanted to mention in my review, this completely destroys every nub I have ever had, if this was marketed correctly this would be just as common as the nub. I think the nub is a good idea but I don't really get the "best part of the cigar" out of it. I love a spicy/peppery smoke and the firecracker is a "perfect" short smoke.
