  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Size: 3" x 50
Wrapper: Nicaraguan
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Price: $4.99/single, $99.00/box 25 (I think)

Took a little stroll the other day and grabbed this fella from the top of the pile to join me. The Firecracker is one of my favorite cold weather smokes (or anytime you don't have a lot of time to smoke) because I don't feel like I've been cheated. They're sure nice to behold. Oily, slightly reddish-brown wrapper. Normally these have a long pig tail cap, but they tend to break off fairly easily and as you can tell in the photo this one's isn't there. Closed foot takes a little bit of effort and patience to light...especially in on a breezy afternoon. Boom! There is a peppery assault on your palate. Not a black pepper, but pepper. This one must have had some rest on it cause I can retro hale it without tearing up so it's not as potent as I remember them being. Pepper dies down some after a few puffs, but remains the dominant flavor throughout. It's joined by a mild leather flavor, a bit of wood and a faint slightly sweet cedar. That's it. Nothing complicated or nuanced about it. This is a slam, bam, thank you ma'am kind of smoke. The burn is fine. A bit wavy and in need of periodic touch ups, but that's more to do with the fact that I'm outside and it's breezy than the cigar. The ash holds strong until about half way in and it drops. Gotta love the trustworthy construction on the DPG cigars...top notch . I would definitely recommend picking up a few for when you're short on time, but want something quality. Shoot, pick up a box even. For the price you'll be glad you did.

This has always been one of my most wanted cigar. I LOVE the DPG Blue labels. I had a DPG Blue and normally I don't smoke larger than Robusto's but it was a Toro and I smoked that thing until I was burning my finger nails off. I gotta try me a Fire Cracker size, they look great. Thanks for the review Dan.

They are at 2 Guys Smoke Shop in NH. Road trip or you can order from their website.

Nice review! Haven't had one in a while, but I think I might have one left, and 'tis the season for small stogies!
