I will start by prefacing that I love the T52 . I had this on my bucket list of cigars to try and when I did the noob cash trade on botl I was sent one in my packet. Boy was I happy..
Thoughts:
The construction is tight and color is noticeably dark - dark brown/ rich red. Veins and bumps subtlety present. This was the first #pigtail I have smoked but I still cut in fear of the wrapper coming apart. The squeeze was a bit hard all around. It was hard to bit down as I lit it, perhaps because of the huge ring gauge.The foot produces a good amount of smoke from the get. Reminds me of a chimney on a cold winter night as a family sits around the fireplace roasting chestnuts. But this trait is present in all drew estate cigars I have smoked. The initial pull is a bit restricted but opens up to a nice easy draw fairly quickly.
I love the aroma the smoke puts out, and even was complimented on it. The taste is definitely earthy all around. I find some hints of pepper and sweetness maybe a little chocolate or coffee. Especially when I scrape the cigar with my teeth as I bit down on it.Strength wise, it was lighter then the T-52, especially in the beginning but as it opened it filled that little void I had and became fuller. Definitely, lingers in the mouth more mid way through the stick.
The burn was clean and straight no real touch ups were needed. Ash color was flaky, gray/white and thick.
I would recommend this to all, but especially those who enjoy the liga privada #smoke, the no9, T52 , undercrown etc.. I would definitely pick it up again.:applause:
