Drilling Boxes?

Just had this random thought while sitting on the couch... When buying trays, you want them to have slats for ventilation, right? So if you're storing cigars in wood boxes, should you drill a hole or two(or many) in the bottom to promote the same circulation?

Or am I just way too in my own head right now?
