Welcome to a new "review as it burns", brothers and sisters. Tonight, the cigar to be smoked was courtesy of Mr. shuckins under 2 conditions: A dual review by both Meg and I (if anyone's wondering, at the moment it's Moro typing) and hats worn during it. Anyone who knows me favoured cigars is aware of how much I like the WOAM, and Meg is about to have her first right now...so let's see where this goes.
Shmear: The wrapper has a very pleasant color of dark and some light brown. Veinless. After cutting the cigar, i gave it a pre-light draw and gave me a flavor of cocoa.
Moro: A gorgeous wrapper, deep dark brown. A well made cap and foot. Nearly veinless, the wrapper gave deep cocoa notes as well as nutmeg ones. Onve vut, the pre-light draw gave cocoa, nutmeg, cedar as well as a peculiar sweetness. Not too sweet, but just right.
Shmear: Must say, the first few puffs i had from this cigar really impressed me. I'm pretty sure the wrapper gives the cigar a slight hint of sweetness mixed in with nutmeg and a hint of coffee, i think.
Moro: As the cigar is lit, it gives notes mentioned before, but somewhere (as usual) it gets a peppery taste unacquainted for before. Marvelous start on what I consider a marvelous cigar. Knocked some ash off due to stupidity, but all is well other than that.
Shmear: Still in the first third, but it has gotten a lot more spicier; pepper, nutmeg... perhaps cinnamon, i can get hints of it but still am not sure of it. Good thing i ate before.
Moro: A solid ash, gorgeous blue smoke...I missed this cigar! The draw tightened up a wee tad and the flavour profile married much better allowing one to note all the aspects of it. Cocoa, pepper, nutmeg, cedar, cinnamon, that sweetness it has,...
Moro: I've no idea what happened since Meg ALWAYS finishes her cigar before...but here I am with the 2nd third; right after she has her say.
Shmear: I've got something to add already to this Strong-A$$-cigar; I've got the flavors of leather and wood, which has given a fuller profile on this cigar. At least FOR ME it's been one of the strongest but the tastiest. The ash fell at 2".
Moro: The 2nd third gives leather notes on a profile with diminished pepper notes. A more mellow cigar but with the smoothness it had since the start. Ash still going strong at almost 3". EDIT: reading Meg, I'm amazed she finds it to be so strong of a cigar since she's had a T110...
Moro: Final input of the review. As ye may notice on the photos...the ash fell. Lasted 2/3 of the cigar though! And also, the roasted nuts that appeared on the final third...I love that in a cigar. A FANTASTIC profile in a well constructed cigar. The right size, as well, for it being small allows for profile I'd rather than other Hemmi Maddys. I say:if ye see it, get it.
Shmear: Last third came in a little easier, it still has the spiciness, of course, but something that Alfonso brought to attention was the nuts. The nuts gave it a smoother flavor, which in my opinion is a good balance.
As a final conclusion: It's a full body cigar and strong, with loads of character, but non-the-less it has a great balance of flavors which will not get you bored of it.
