  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Shuckins so graciously sent us these sticks to review. So We smoked them about a week ago and here is the review. We wore hats per Shuckins instructions and we took far less pictures than we should but this will give you a idea.

They look so pretty don't they.

After cutting the pre-light draw on both was very easy. The burn was even the whole time and remained a easy draw.

Scarletbegonia: I felt that the first third was very grassy and almost over powering cedar flavor. This started to mellow after about a inch in where the flavors changed a bit. Starting off a very full bodied cigar.

Funkejj: I have to agree the start was had some extreme cedar flavors more so than any other cigar I have smoked. This did start to change to a nutty almost like a pecan flavor. Starting about a inch and a half in I developed a split on one side. It continued as I smoked. We were in chat at the time and I showed the guys on the web cam.

Scarlet: The burn is still even, my cigar has not split like Jasons has. The draw remains loose. The cedar flavors have subsided and am getting a leathery and nutty flavors. The cigar started to get a bit of a spice kick on the finish.

Funkejj: My cigar despite the split on the side is still burning very even. The draw has become tighter and might use the draw poker soo to open it back up. Still getting the nutty pecan like flavors, I too am getting some spice in it. I would think of this more of a medium rather than a full bodied cigar. Getting more earthy flavors now. with about 1.5 inches left I had to sit the cigar down, despite using a draw poker the cigar just would no longer draw, part of the wrapper has flaked off. I thought this might have been to high of humidity but these were stored at 65% for 2 weeks after getting them in the mail.

Scarlet: I smoked mine to a nub. The spice built up during the last third. Picked up some leather and more earthy notes. The Cedar is completely gone now. The spice for me is almost to much but I am not a spicy cigar type of girl. The burn was perfect start to finish, the draw was as well.

We this is our first review so sorry for any choppiness in it. Next review will have many more pictures. It seemed like we took more that night but when moving them from the camera to here I know we needed many more.

Good job! You forgot to say whether you liked it or not...

The Power Ranger was my first Opus X and remains one of my favorites of the entire line. Sorry to see yours split, but I have never had an issue with the construction or burn. The only one that was even slightly difficult to draw on was 6+ years old. (BTW, Opus change dramatically with age!)
